Hema Malini and Esha Deol Skip Dharmendra’s Prayer Meeting at Home

A recent prayer meeting was held in Mumbai to honor the memory of the late Dharmendra, organized by his sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol. The gathering, which focused on celebrating the life of the veteran actor, garnered attention due to the notable absence of his second wife, Hema Malini, and their daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol.

The Deol family’s prayer meeting took place on Thursday, called “Celebration of Life,” and was supported by Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, alongside their other children. Despite the significant family gathering, Hema Malini and her daughters were conspicuously absent from the event, which raised questions among attendees. Instead, Hema was conducting a private prayer ceremony at her home, where a pandit was spotted earlier that day.

Numerous celebrities attended Hema’s gathering, including Mahima Chaudhry and Sunita Ahuja. Sunita later shared insights from the event with the media, describing Hema’s tribute as a path of Bhagavad Gita and bhajans that moved many to tears.

Hema Malini’s close relationship with Dharmendra was evident in her heartfelt social media tribute. She described him as a loving husband, a supportive father to their daughters, and a guide in her life. Her emotional message reflected the profound bond they shared, emphasizing just how much he meant to her.

The prayer meeting hosted by Dharmendra’s family was well-attended, with notable figures from the film industry present, including Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, and Madhuri Dixit. The ceremony took place at a hotel in Mumbai and ran for nearly three hours, allowing family and friends to commemorate and remember the actor’s legacy together.

Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89 on November 24, just shy of his 90th birthday. His passing marked the end of a remarkable career in Indian cinema, having entertained audiences for decades. Following his death, a large crowd gathered for his cremation in Mumbai, paying their final respects to the legendary actor.
