A recent prayer meeting was held in Mumbai to honor the late Dharmendra, organized by his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, along with his first wife, Prakash Kaur. This event attracted significant attention due to the conspicuous absence of Dharmendra’s second wife, Hema Malini, as well as their daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol.
The prayer meeting, which focused on celebrating Dharmendra’s life, raised questions when Hema Malini and her daughters were not seen at the venue. Instead, a pandit was noted entering her residence around the same time, which sparked further speculation. Hema Malini subsequently hosted a separate ceremony at home, attended by several close friends and family members, including Mahima Chaudhry and Sunita Ahuja, who confirmed the bhajan sandhya that Hema organized.
In a heartfelt tribute shared on social media, Hema Malini reflected on her relationship with Dharmendra, describing him as her “loving husband” and “guide.” Her emotional message highlighted his role in her life and the profound connection they shared over the years.
At the main prayer event, family members gathered at a hotel in Mumbai, sharing their grief and celebrating Dharmendra’s impact on their lives. The meeting began in the evening and included emotional remembrances from family and friends. Prominent figures from the film industry, such as Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan, were also in attendance, underscoring the legacy of the veteran actor.
Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89 on November 24, just weeks before what would have been his 90th birthday. He had been recuperating at home following a hospital stay earlier in November, and his cremation took place the day after his passing in Mumbai.
This gathering serves not only as a moment of mourning for a beloved actor but also as a testament to the enduring connections he forged throughout his life and career.
