Dileep Accuses Ex-Wife of Plotting Against Him After Acquittal

Malayalam actor Dileep was acquitted in a high-profile sexual assault case involving a fellow actress from 2017. Following the court’s decision, he addressed the media, claiming that he was the victim of a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing his reputation. Dileep specifically implicated his ex-wife, Manju Warrier, alongside certain law enforcement officials and segments of the media for their alleged roles in this conspiracy.

Dileep expressed his belief that his involvement in the case was orchestrated to damage his career and public image. He asserted that Warrier had initiated claims of a criminal conspiracy, which he believes set the stage for the accusations against him. The actor further alleged that a female police officer and a group of criminal investigators were handpicked by Warrier to pursue the case against him.

The actor launched serious accusations against the police, alleging they collaborated with the prime suspect, Pulsar Suni, to fabricate evidence against him. Dileep contended that these officials, along with some media outlets, worked together to promote a false narrative about him on social media platforms. He proclaimed that the truth emerged during the court proceedings, ultimately disproving the allegations against him, and he took the opportunity to thank his family, legal team, and supporters for their unwavering assistance throughout his ordeal.

The case dates back to February 17, 2017, when an actress was assaulted after assailants forcibly entered her car and held her captive for two hours. Dileep and nine others were charged in connection with the crime, including the prime accused, Sunil. Following an investigation, Dileep was arrested on July 10, 2017, after it was claimed he had communicated with Sunil from jail, allegedly paying for the actress’s assault.

The prosecution’s case hinged on assertions that Dileep had been informed by Warrier about the actress’s alleged affair with another actor, suggesting a motive rooted in jealousy. However, after a lengthy trial, the court found six individuals guilty, including Suni, while acquitting Dileep and three others.

Judge Honey M. Varghese of the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court delivered the verdict, concluding a drawn-out legal battle that saw several crucial witnesses change their testimony or, unfortunately, pass away during the proceedings. The case garnered significant media attention, reflecting the complexities of celebrity culture and legal proceedings in the context of serious allegations.
