Rayhan Thomas Makes Significant Stride to PGA Tour with Q-School Success

Dubai golfer Rayhan Thomas has reached a significant milestone in his career by advancing to the Final Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School. This stage serves as a critical pathway to both the Korn Ferry Tour and the prestigious PGA Tour.

The 26-year-old, representing Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, showcased his skills with a total score of 13-under-par (275), finishing in a tie for 15th place during the tournament held at The Landings, Deer Creek in Savannah, Georgia. His performance aligned perfectly with the qualifying number, securing his position for the upcoming competition in Florida.

At the Final Stage, the stakes are high—achieving a top-five finish will grant players full PGA Tour cards for 2026, while the next 40 players and ties will earn full membership for the Korn Ferry Tour during the same season. For Thomas, this week emphasized focus and resilience, essential traits for succeeding in the high-pressure environment of professional golf.

The rounds he played were marked by consistency and strategic decision-making. He recorded scores of 67, 71, and another 67 before wrapping up the tournament with a steady 70, characterized by 16 pars and just two bogeys. His performance on the final day was a testament to his composure, as he started at 11-under and managed to secure his qualification without panic.

Reflecting on the competition, Thomas expressed relief at successfully meeting his goal. He acknowledged that while his putting could have improved, the essence of Qualifying School lies in endurance and advancement.

Notably, Thomas was one of the 22 players to advance from the Georgia tournament site, where Hunter Eichhorn emerged as the medalist with an impressive score of 21-under par. Among the qualified players is S.Y. Noh, a former DP World Tour winner, highlighting the competitive nature of the event.

Looking ahead, Thomas will compete in the Final Stage at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, spanning December 11-14 at TPC Sawgrass and Sawgrass Country Club. A top-five finish would mark a historic achievement for a golfer from his region, potentially granting him full PGA Tour status. Even a position within the top 40 would secure a Korn Ferry Tour card, significantly boosting his career prospects.

With sponsors such as Hero, Wilson, Cadillac, and Dubai Basketball supporting him, Thomas moves forward with momentum, confidence, and a sense of purpose. As he approaches this pivotal moment in his career, the dream of playing at the highest level in golf becomes increasingly attainable.
