The 16th Globe Soccer Awards are set to take place on December 28 at the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai, showcasing the achievements of football stars recognized by fans worldwide. With over 30 million votes cast, the finalists cover a wide array of categories, celebrating excellence in both men’s and women’s football.
During the voting process, fans were able to contribute their voices in nine key categories, including Best Men’s Player, Best Women’s Player, and Best Men’s Club, among others. This year’s event promises a star-studded gathering of athletes, managers, and influential figures from the sport.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stands out with multiple nominations, competing for Best Men’s Club alongside notable teams like Barcelona, Chelsea, Flamengo, and Liverpool. In the Best Coach category, PSG manager Luis Enrique faces off against other top coaches such as Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid and Mikel Arteta from Arsenal.
Individually, PSG players Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha are contenders for Best Men’s Player, competing with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, as well as Barcelona’s Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
In the women’s categories, Aitana Bonmatí of Barcelona Femení aims for her third consecutive Best Women’s Player award. Her competition includes Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal), Melchie Dumornay (Lyon), Alexia Putellas (Barcelona), and Alessia Russo (Arsenal). The Best Women’s Club nominees are also highly competitive, featuring Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea FC, and Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s participation adds significant excitement to the evening. The Al Nassr forward is a finalist for Best Middle East Player, vying with notable players like Salem Al-Dawsari, Karim Benzema, and Riyad Mahrez.
