The highly anticipated release of Yash Raj Films’ spy thriller Alpha, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has been postponed again. This delay comes as the film’s producers have chosen to avoid a direct clash with Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama, Battle of Galwan, which is also set for an April 2026 release.
Originally planned for April 17, 2026, Alpha will now take a different path. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed via social media that the filmmakers are reevaluating their release timeline. The intention is to select a new date based on the theatrical calendar over the coming months.
This marks the second time that Alpha has had its release date adjusted. Initially, it was slated for Christmas 2025, but the need for more post-production time and extensive visual effects work led to the first postponement. Although no specific new date has been announced, it is expected that the film will hit theaters in the latter half of 2026.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is notable for being the sixth entry in the YRF Spy Universe, which includes popular titles such as Tiger and War, in addition to Pathaan. The film was first hinted at in a post-credits scene from War 2 released earlier this year. Alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the cast features Bobby Deol, making this the first female-led spy thriller produced by YRF.
Fans eagerly await the announcement of a new release date, and with the evolving landscape of film schedules, it will be interesting to see how this impacts the promotional strategies for both Alpha and Battle of Galwan.
