Gordon Ramsay’s Daughter Faces Wedding Controversy with Excluded In-Laws

Avatar: Fire and Ash,” the latest installment in James Cameron’s celebrated franchise, has made a remarkable debut at the global box office, accumulating over $500 million in its first week. This achievement coincided with the holiday season, with the film crossing this milestone by Christmas Day.

As reported by Variety, “Fire and Ash” generated approximately $544 million globally during its opening week. However, its performance lags behind that of its predecessor, “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which had a stronger opening in 2022.

The film secured an estimated $347 million during its opening weekend, which includes $88 million from North America. An additional $250 million came from international markets, highlighting its significant overseas appeal. Despite this, “Fire and Ash” fell short of outpacing other holiday releases, notably the animated film “Zootopia 2,” which holds the title for the strongest holiday opening of 2025.

In the following days, “Fire and Ash” continued to draw audiences, earning an extra $24 million domestically, thereby surpassing the $500 million benchmark. Industry analysts suggest that the film could still see an increase in earnings over the next week as it competes with other major releases, including “Marty Supreme.”

Comparatively, “Avatar: The Way of Water” opened with around $441 million globally, garnering about $134 million from domestic audiences during its first three days. Despite the current competition and a noticeable decline in cinema attendance, “Fire and Ash” started strongly. Industry insiders believe there is potential for the film to reach a higher earning target in its second week.

James Cameron’s plans for the franchise include the production of two additional sequels, “Avatar 4,” set for release in 2029, and “Avatar 5,” coming in 2031. Some filming for “Avatar 4” has already been completed during the making of the previous two films. However, Cameron notes that the continuation of the franchise hinges on the success and reception of its current entries.

If the subsequent films do not move forward, Cameron has indicated he would share the intended storylines with fans directly. This transparent approach has resonated with the franchise’s dedicated fanbase as they anticipate the future of Pandora.
