The upcoming release of Maruthi’s film “The Raja Saab,” featuring Prabhas, is generating considerable buzz ahead of its debut on January 9. Prior to its release, the film underwent several modifications to secure a UA certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The CBFC issued a UA 16+ certificate for “The Raja Saab,” which has a runtime of 189 minutes. Among the changes requested were the removal and alteration of certain graphic visuals, including a scene depicting blood on the floor, which was modified to appear in monochrome. Additionally, a four-second beheading scene was completely removed. The film makers also adjusted audio descriptions and closed captions in accordance with CBFC guidelines.
“The Raja Saab” will face competition from several other titles in both Telugu and Tamil markets during the Sankranthi festival. Notable releases on January 9 include Vijay’s final film “Jana Nayagan,” retitled “Jana Nayakudu” in Telugu. Furthermore, the Tamil film “Parasakthi,” starring Sivakarthikeyan, is anticipated to launch on January 10, with Chiranjeevi’s “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” set for January 12. Other releases scheduled for January 14 include Naveen Polishetty’s “Anaganaga Oka Raju” and Sharwanand’s “Nari Nari Naduma Murari.”
Directed by Maruthi, “The Raja Saab” is produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. The film features an ensemble cast, including Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab. The plot centers around a man who partners with a malevolent spirit in a quest to protect his grandmother.
