Mangat Praises Jaideep Ahlawat’s Talent Over Akshaye Khanna

The highly anticipated third installment of the Hindi crime thriller series, Drishyam 3, is set to hit the big screen following its successful predecessors. Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Sharan, and Ishita Dutta, the film promises to continue the gripping narrative that captivated audiences in the previous installments. Recently, producer Mangat Pathak announced a significant casting change that has sparked considerable discussion among fans.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Pathak confirmed that actor Jaideep Ahlawat will replace Akshaye Khanna in Drishyam 3. This decision comes amidst rumors regarding Khanna’s exit from the project, reportedly due to his demands, which included wearing a wig for his role as IG ‘Tarun Ahlawat.’ The producers found this request inconsistent with the character’s established look in the previous film. Pathak voiced his perspective, stating that Jaideep Ahlawat is not only a talented actor but also a better fit for the film.

Khanna previously played a critical role as the investigating officer in Drishyam 2, and his portrayal was well-received by audiences. However, it appears that his exit was not amicable. Pathak mentioned that he has faced financial losses because of Khanna’s behavior and has proceeded to send a legal notice to him. The producer’s frustration is evident, as he noted that he has yet to receive a response from Khanna.

Speculations about Khanna’s departure have been fueled by reports of a sudden increase in his expected remuneration. Following his recent success in films like Dhurandhar, Khanna sought a substantial salary raise, reportedly demanding Rs. 21 crore. This request alarmed the film’s makers, who believed that such a salary increase could jeopardize the film’s budget. They attempted to negotiate with Khanna, but the actor felt justified in his demands, leading to his eventual exit from the project.

The situation has left fans wondering how Drishyam 3 will unfold without Khanna’s presence. His previous role added significant tension to the plot, and Ahlawat’s portrayal will need to capture the audience’s attention in a different way.

As the film gears up for its release, the changes in the cast and the behind-the-scenes dynamics are bound to influence the narrative going forward. Fans are encouraged to share their thoughts on this casting decision and what it might mean for the future of the Drishyam franchise.
