Agastya Nanda has recently made his debut in the film industry with Sriram Raghavan’s “Ikkis.” He comes from a prominent lineage, being part of both the Bachchan and Nanda families. In a candid moment shared on IMDb’s YouTube channel, he addressed the pressure that might come with such a legacy.
Discussing his family background, Agastya emphasized that he does not feel burdened by expectations. He stated, “I don’t take that pressure in the slightest because I know that’s not my legacy to own.” His primary focus is making his father, Nikhil Nanda, proud, which he views as a significant part of his personal legacy.
While acknowledging the achievements of his family members in the acting world, he feels that he cannot emulate them precisely. Agastya remarked, “It’s not even worth spending time trying to think of it.” He is the son of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, and his family tree includes renowned figures like Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, as well as Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.
Agastya’s film “Ikkis” is a war biopic that portrays the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The film also features notable actors Dharmendra, Simar Bhatia, Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher, Vivan Shah, and Rahul Dev, and was released on January 1, 2026.
The movie, produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, is co-written by Sriram alongside Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti. Upon its release, “Ikkis” opened with an impressive ₹7 crore nett and has grossed approximately ₹21.08 crore, according to reports.
On a personal note, Agastya’s sister, Navya, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram showcasing his dedication to the role of Arun Khetarpal. He expressed his sentiment by saying, “This was, is, and always will be the most special character I got to play. Thank you, Arun Khetarpal. Love, Agastya.”
Agastya ventured into acting with Zoya Akhtar’s “The Archies” in 2023, where he starred alongside a cast that included Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Vedang Raina, marking the beginning of his journey in the film industry.
