Dubai Basketball Extends Winning Streak with 90-79 Win Against Borac Mozzart

Dubai Basketball maintained their impressive undefeated streak in the ABA League with a 90-79 win over Borac Mozzart, bringing their record to 12-0. The match took place at the Coca-Cola Arena and highlighted the club’s ongoing success.

A notable highlight of the game was the debut of 17-year-old Tomislav Vuckovic, who became the first player from the Dubai Basketball Academy to start in an official senior competition. His participation signifies a pivotal step in the club’s commitment to developing talent from youth levels to professional basketball.

The first quarter presented challenges for Dubai, as Borac Mozzart took early control, ending the period with a 23-19 lead. The visitors capitalized on Dubai’s early mistakes, utilizing the skills of former NBA stars McKinley Wright and Dwayne Bacon. However, Dubai regrouped, managing to edge ahead by halftime at 41-37.

As the game progressed, Dubai’s depth became a noticeable factor. Key contributions from new player Kenan Kamenjaš, along with experienced teammates Nemanja Dangubić and Klemen Prepelič, allowed Dubai to maintain their lead. On the contrary, Borac struggled to get consistent support, with Marko Jošilo and Diante Baldwin being their primary offensive threats.

Head coach Jurica Golemac praised his team following the match, stating, “Congratulations to our players for the win. It was not an easy game, especially after such a tight schedule. We did not start well, but we found our rhythm in the second half and made the game easier. Everyone shared minutes, nobody got injured, and that is the most important thing for us.”

In the final quarter, Dubai exhibited composure, preventing Borac from closing the gap. Dwayne Bacon led Dubai’s scoring efforts with 15 points, while Kenan Kamenjaš contributed 13 points and seven rebounds to the team’s success.

Looking ahead, Dubai Basketball will face Virtus Bologna in Round 22 of the EuroLeague. Currently, they stand in 12th place, just above their upcoming opponents. The match is anticipated to be a crucial contest as the teams compete for a higher ranking in the league standings.

Fans can look forward to supporting Dubai at home, with tickets available for the EuroLeague matchup against Virtus Bologna set to be a highlight of the season.
