Discover The Release Date And Streaming Details For ‘Akhanda 2’

Akhanda 2, the sequel to the successful 2021 film Akhanda, has recently made its way to streaming platforms after a theatrical release. Directed by Boyapati Srinu and featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna in dual roles, the movie hit theaters on December 11, 2025, and has since attracted viewers’ interest.

Now, fans can stream Akhanda 2 starting January 9, 2026, on Netflix. This action-adventure film follows the standard four-week release window from theaters to OTT platforms. It is available for viewing in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Netflix announced the release with a catchy social media post, enticing fans to enjoy the sequel from the comfort of their homes.

The plot of Akhanda 2: Thaandavam continues the story of Balakrishna’s character, known as ‘Akhanda,’ who is a fierce protector battling evil with divine powers. The sequel introduces a new antagonist, played by Aadhi Pinisetty, who is endowed with supernatural abilities, raising the stakes for the hero. The film is rich in mythological themes and promises high-voltage action, along with a gripping tale that blends tradition with fantasy.

The cast also includes Samyuktha Menon and Harshaali Malhotra, marking Harshaali’s second project after her debut in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The trailer builds anticipation for an epic showdown between Akhanda and the formidable new villain.

In terms of box office performance, Akhanda 2 earned a net total of Rs. 94.45 crore in India, with the Telugu version contributing the most to its earnings. The film enjoyed a respectable global gross of Rs. 123.8 crore, making it one of the top 10 Telugu grossers of 2025. However, it did not quite replicate the buzz generated by its predecessor, partially due to a legal issue that delayed its release.

Before hitting theaters, the film faced a temporary postponement due to a stay order from the Madras High Court. This legal hurdle was related to a dispute between Eros International Media Ltd. and 14 Reels Entertainment Private Limited, over a significant monetary decree. Following the resolution of this issue, the film was ultimately released, attracting audiences eager to see Balakrishna back in action.

As Akhanda 2 becomes available for streaming, many fans are curious whether they will watch it on Netflix. The film presents an engaging opportunity for both existing fans and newcomers to delve into the action-packed narrative of Akhanda’s world.
