Pat Dobbs Celebrates Consecutive Victories at Jebel Ali Racecourse

Pat Dobbs, a prominent figure in UAE racing, demonstrated his enduring skill by securing victories in both feature prep races at Jebel Ali Racecourse. His performance further solidifies his position as a reliable and consistent jockey, showcasing his experience in the local circuit.

In the 2000-metre Tobougg Corner Stakes, Dobbs expertly guided Arlan to triumph, narrowly defeating Elusive Trevor by a head, with Secret Manner trailing just half a length behind. This win highlights Dobbs’s adept handling of horses in high-stakes situations.

Later, he collaborated with Qatari trainer Hamad Al Jehani to lead David Of Athens to a decisive victory in the Jebel Ali Mile Prep Stakes. The pair finished 2½ lengths ahead of Saayedd, representing Jebel Ali Stables, and 2¼ lengths clear of Kafoo, marking a successful partnership and an impressive performance on the day.

Having spent over two decades in the UAE, Dobbs has achieved more than 200 wins, including a noteworthy victory in the Godolphin Mile aboard Second Summer in 2017. His long-standing association with Doug Watson’s Red Stables has created a strong partnership that continues to excel in the competitive racing environment of the Emirates.

The afternoon also saw the successful collaboration between champion trainer Bhupat Seemar and 12-time UAE Champion jockey Tadhg O’Shea, who both celebrated a winning double. O’Shea first secured victory with Omaha Front in the Al Shafar Investment Stakes, followed by success aboard Ashwaan in the Commercial Bank of Dubai Stakes. This double win helped O’Shea narrow the gap in the jockeys’ championship, bringing his tally to 21 wins, while the leader, Silvestre de Sousa, holds 26.

Seemar’s successes reinforce his standing in the trainers’ championship, where he is level with Ibrahim Al Hadhrami of Al Nakheel Racing stable at 23 victories. Defending champion Musabbeh Al Mheiri also keeps the competition fierce by adding another win with No Escape in the JARC Sprint Handicap.

As the UAE racing season progresses, both the jockeys’ and trainers’ championships remain fiercely contested. With several months left in the season, fans can expect thrilling races and tight competition among the top riders and trainers in the upcoming events.
