Father of ICE Jonathan Ross Revealed, Killer of Renee Nicole Good Linked to Iraq

On January 7, 2026, a tragic incident occurred in south Minneapolis when Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer. This event took place during a large-scale immigration operation involving around 2,000 agents, leading to significant local and national outrage. Immediate protests erupted at the scene, with community members and officials calling for ICE’s withdrawal from the city.

The ICE agent responsible for the shooting has been identified as Jonathan Ross, also 37 years old. A veteran of ICE, Ross has served for over a decade and is part of the Special Response Team (SRT) within the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) division. New insights into his background reveal a military history, along with family connections and experiences that have come under scrutiny since the incident.

Reports suggest that Ross has a military past linked to Iraq. A post on social media by a person identified as his father featured an image of a man holding an assault weapon, captioned “Jon Ross in Iraq.” This individual reportedly bears a resemblance to the agent involved in the Minneapolis shooting. Prior to his time in Minneapolis, Ross lived near Fort Bliss, a prominent U.S. Army base in New Mexico, and in El Paso, Texas. These details have been derived from investigative reports and remain unverified by anyone involved in the situation.

Following the revelation of the agent’s identity and background, interest in Ross’s personal history has surged. Although media sources have discovered social media accounts related to his family, they have opted not to disclose specific names in respect of privacy and safety, especially given the public backlash surrounding the shooting.

The events leading up to Renee Nicole Good’s death unfolded around 9:30 a.m. ET on the day of the shooting. Videos captured by bystanders show ICE agents surrounding her vehicle, instructing her to exit. In a distressed attempt to escape, Good reversed her car and moved to turn right when an agent positioned near the front-left side of her vehicle discharged three shots through the windshield.

Renee was fatally struck in the head, resulting in her car crashing into a light pole. Despite being rushed to a hospital, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The circumstances of the shooting have ignited widespread controversy, with differing accounts emerging from federal and local officials. Footage from witnesses has been shared with authorities and media, depicting a distressing scene that included not only the agents and Good, but also her visibly distraught partner. Notably, the back seat of her vehicle was found filled with children’s toys, indicating her role as a mother. At the time of her death, her youngest child, a six-year-old son, was at school.

The community is grieving the loss of Renee Nicole Good, and her family is in our thoughts during this difficult time.
