Kartik Aaryan Takes ₹15 Crore Cut from Tu Meri Main Tera Fee After Flop

The romantic comedy film “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri,” featuring actors Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, has not performed well at the box office. Following its lackluster reception, reports indicate that Aaryan has decided to waive off ₹15 crore from his fee for the project.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, this fee reduction is a voluntary gesture from Aaryan aimed at supporting the film’s producer, Karan Johar. Despite speculation suggesting a rift between Aaryan and Johar, industry sources have dismissed these claims as unfounded. They confirmed that Aaryan’s decision was a supportive move amidst the film’s disappointing performance.

This is not the first time Aaryan has taken a financial step to assist his producers. After his previous film “Shehzada” underperformed, he similarly waived a significant portion of his remuneration. “Shehzada” was the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo,” which starred Allu Arjun.

In a 2023 interview, Aaryan explained his rationale for returning his fees for “Shehzada.” Initially not on board as a producer, Aaryan stated that he later chose to support the project financially during a critical phase. This decision, he said, arose to alleviate some of the burdens faced by the production team.

As for “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri,” directed by Sameer Vidwans, it released on Christmas to mixed reviews. The film marks another collaboration between Aaryan and Panday, who previously starred together in “Pati Patni Aur Woh.” Notable actors Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta also play significant roles in the film, which was produced under Dharma Productions.

Critics have described the film as lacking substance, with Hindustan Times remarking that it presented itself as a “scenic postcard with no message.” With poor box office numbers, the film has reportedly grossed over ₹32.95 crore within two weeks of its release, reflecting its struggle to attract audiences.
