UAE Names Muhammad Waseem as Captain for Men’s T20 World Cup Squad

Palaash Muchhal, a noted music composer, and cricketer Smriti Mandhana recently drew significant attention following the cancellation of their highly anticipated wedding. After dating for five years, they were set to tie the knot in November 2025, but just two weeks before the event, the couple called off their plans.

Following the cancellation, Smriti has refocused on her cricket career, while Palaash has resumed his professional commitments. Reports indicate that he is making a return to filmmaking after taking a brief break, preparing to direct a new film that features actor Shreyas Talpade in a prominent role.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has confirmed this news, stating that Palaash Muchhal’s upcoming film will present Talpade as a common man in a story set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai. Filming for this untitled project is expected to start soon, marking Palaash’s third outing as a director.

The wedding was initially planned for November 23, 2025, but it was postponed due to a medical emergency involving Smriti’s father. Following the incident, it was reported that Palaash experienced wedding-related stress, leading to a period of hospitalization. Rumors of infidelity surfaced during this tumultuous time, ultimately leading Smriti to publicly announce the cancellation of the wedding.

Palaash later issued a statement regarding their split, addressing the cheating allegations directly. He expressed his desire to move forward and reflected on the challenges he faced during this difficult period, emphasizing the impact of unsubstantiated rumors on his personal life.

In terms of his directorial career, Palaash Muchhal debuted in 2022 with the film Ardh, featuring Rajpal Yadav and Rubina Dilaik. He followed this with Kaam Chalu Hai in 2024, a movie inspired by the real-life story of Manoj Patil. Alongside his films, Palaash has also directed several popular music videos featuring well-known personalities like Rashami Desai and Natasa Stankovic.

As Palaash prepares for his return to the film industry, many are keen to see how his experiences will influence his new project and his creative vision moving forward.
