Vikrant Massey, an actor known for his versatile roles, recently reflected on the challenges he faced in his early life. At just 16 years old, he began working multiple jobs to support his education amid financial difficulties. His commitment saw him working long hours each day while subsisting on minimal resources.
In a recent interview, Massey shared his experiences of juggling two jobs, often clocking 16-hour days. He emphasized that he turned to acting not out of passion initially, but because of financial necessity. During this time, he effectively balanced roles as a barista and an assistant instructor in a dance troupe, navigating a strenuous routine that included commuting on local trains.
The actor recounted his first experience in front of the camera, which occurred on December 19, 2024. Despite the excitement of his debut, the project never aired due to conflicts between the broadcasters and producers. Massey described feeling devastated after dedicating eight months to a fantasy show about a character who could become invisible, only to have it ultimately become unfulfilled.
Despite the setbacks, Massey acknowledged the support he received from the production team, who recognized his financial struggles and offered him a position in the production office. This experience highlights the often unseen challenges that actors face within the industry, who can find themselves last in the line of information regarding their projects.
Transitioning from television to film, Massey made his cinematic debut in the 2013 film “Lootera.” He has since received critical acclaim, winning the Best Actor award for his performance in “12th Fail” at the 71st National Film Awards, sharing the honor with industry heavyweight Shah Rukh Khan. Though his appearance in “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan” alongside Shanaya Kapoor did not resonate with audiences, he remains focused on his evolving career.
Massey is set to appear in a special role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film “O Romeo,” which features prominent actors Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri. This action-thriller drama is scheduled for release on February 13, promising to add another layer to Massey’s diverse portfolio.
