Dhurandhar Joins the Ranks of Cinema’s All-Time Greats on IMDb

Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller “Dhurandhar” continues to perform impressively at the box office while receiving praise from both critics and audiences. Its success is further highlighted by its inclusion in the esteemed IMDb Top 250 list, which ranks the greatest films of all time based on user votes.

With an impressive IMDb rating of 8.5 out of 10 and over 100,000 votes, “Dhurandhar” occupies the 250th spot in the rankings. This places it just below Ajay Devgn’s classic “Drishyam” and four positions lower than Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wasseypur.”

The IMDb Top 250 list employs a unique algorithm that aims to prevent rating manipulation and review bombings, while also factoring in popularity and recency. Over the years, a number of Indian films have made their way onto this prestigious list, including “Maharaja” at 222, “Jai Bhim” at 221, and “Dangal” at 125. Other notable entries include “Taare Zameen Par” at 107, “3 Idiots” at 85, and “12th Fail” at 69.

At the top of this list remains “The Shawshank Redemption,” which has held the number one position for over a decade. “The Godfather” follows in second place, while “The Dark Knight” rounds out the top three. Recent additions to the list include films like “Inception” at 14, “Interstellar” at 18, and “Parasite” at 34.

“Dhurandhar” is directed by Aditya Dhar and features a talented cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. The film has grossed over ₹1300 crore, making it the fourth-highest-grossing Indian film of all time. A sequel, “Dhurandhar 2,” is scheduled to hit theaters in March, indicating the franchise’s growing popularity.
