Recently, the 22-year-old made headlines by defeating Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final, earning the title of the youngest man to win all four Grand Slam tournaments. This achievement surpasses the record set by the legendary Rafael Nadal, who was 24 years old when he completed his career Grand Slam.
Alcaraz has expressed deep respect for both Nadal and Djokovic, though it was Roger Federer who inspired him during his formative years. The world number one reflected on Federer’s influence, noting, “Watching Federer is like looking at a work of art. It’s elegance; he did everything magnificently. I became enchanted by him.”
While Alcaraz may share some characteristics with Federer, including creativity and tactical prowess, he has carved out his unique identity within professional tennis. Hailing from El Palmar, a small town in southeastern Spain, Alcaraz made headlines in 2022 when he became the first player to defeat both Nadal and Djokovic at the same clay-court event in Madrid, doing so on consecutive days.
His first Grand Slam victory at the US Open in 2022 marked him as the youngest men’s major champion since Nadal’s triumph at the 2005 French Open. “I just hate giving up,” Alcaraz admitted. “There were many matches when I didn’t want to fight anymore or I just gave up. I matured and realized I never want to feel that way again.”

With a history of marking his wins through body art, such as a strawberry for Wimbledon and the Eiffel Tower for the French Open, he has already chosen a design. “I’ve said it’s going to be a kangaroo, for sure,” he shared, adding that the tattoo would likely be placed on his leg, possibly close to his participation in the French Open or Wimbledon.
