One of the significant milestones in Indian streaming, “Mirzapur,” will soon make its transition to the big screen. The film titled “Mirzapur the Movie” is set to hit theaters on September 4, as confirmed by the creators.
On Thursday, Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment unveiled a new poster for the movie, which prominently displays its release date. The visuals feature a convoy of SUVs navigating a winding road, encapsulating the film’s adventurous spirit. The promotional caption invites audiences to experience the film, stating, “Ab dekhiye bhaukaal bade parde par. Watch #MirzapurTheMovie releasing at your nearest theatres on 4th September.”
“Mirzapur the Movie” will see the return of beloved characters, including Kaleen Bhaiya, portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi, and Guddu Bhaiya, played by Ali Fazal. Notably, the film resurrects Divyenndu’s character, Munna Tripathi, adding to the intrigue for fans. The ensemble cast boasts talents like Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Duggal, and Shweta Tripathi, among others. However, Vikrant Massey, who portrayed Babloo Pandit in the first season, will not reprise his role and has been replaced by Jitendra Kumar.
Recently wrapping up its shooting phase, the film is currently in post-production. “Mirzapur” revolves around themes of gang rivalry, vengeance, and the quest for power, all set against the backdrop of its namesake town in Uttar Pradesh. This series has gained considerable acclaim, establishing itself as one of India’s most popular OTT franchises.
