Reactions Brew as Pitcher Challenges Aman Gupta and Accepts Namita Thapar’s Deal

In a standout moment from the fifth season of Shark Tank India, entrepreneur Shubham Gupta impressed the panel by accepting an offer from Namita Thapar without even waiting to hear from the other investors. This surprising decision has generated a buzz on social media, particularly noted for how it caught Aman Gupta off guard.

Shubham was pitching his Indian streetwear brand, Bonkers Corner, seeking ₹1.5 crore for a 0.5% equity stake. Namita quickly made an offer, and when Aman suggested negotiations for later, Shubham confidently accepted Namita’s proposal right away. Her enthusiastic response, “Deal done. Usko sunna nahi hein (He does not want to hear anything else),” highlighted her excitement for his vision and brand.

Viewers reacted positively to Shubham’s decision, praising his decisiveness and willingness to seize an opportunity without second-guessing. Comments on social media reflected admiration for his clarity in making choices and the surprise felt by both the sharks and the audience.

Namita took to Instagram to express her delight, marking this moment as a first in the show’s history where a founder accepted an offer on the spot. She described Shubham as a unique and inspiring entrepreneur and emphasized the impressive projected sales of ₹180 crore for Bonkers Corner with a 20% EBITDA margin.

In her post, Namita also shared a moving part of Shubham’s backstory, detailing his challenges after his father’s business failure, which forced him to leave college. She praised Shubham’s resilience in the face of adversity and indicated a strong bond that developed during their initial meeting in Pune.

Furthermore, Namita expressed her pride in Shubham’s achievements and noted that his brand resonates with her entire family. She mentioned his ambitious goals for offline expansion and tech development, with plans for support from his mentor and herself. Also, she highlighted concerns about his health, as he has been working extremely hard, causing significant weight loss.

Shark Tank India continues to air on Sony LIV from Monday to Friday at 8 PM, showcasing entrepreneurial journeys and innovative ideas in the Indian startup scene.
