Abhishek Bachchan recently shared his views on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the film industry. Speaking at the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2026, the actor expressed his concerns about AI, asserting that it could be detrimental to actors if not used responsibly.
Bachchan emphasized that AI should be approached with caution, highlighting that it has the potential to revolutionize creativity in various fields. He noted, “AI scares me. It should scare every actor. If not used responsibly, it can be detrimental for actors.” While acknowledging the benefits of AI in areas like animation and special effects, he pointed out that it lacks the emotional depth and imperfections inherent to human creativity.
The actor also addressed the broader implications of AI in other sectors, mentioning potential disruptions in industries such as medicine and law. He admitted to feeling uncertain about the rapid advancements in AI technology, stating, “I don’t have a complete grasp of the AI landscape, so I am not very comfortable with it.” This reflects his desire to stay informed about developments in the field.
Bachchan’s comments come in the context of a growing trend of AI-generated content on social media. Recently, his fans created AI avatars featuring him in an animated video for the song “Just a Boy” by DrINsaNE. The video showcased Bachchan in some of his iconic roles from films like Guru and Dhoom, highlighting the blending of technology and entertainment.
In terms of his recent work, Abhishek starred in the film Kaalidhar Laapata, directed by Madhumita, which also featured Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Daivik Bhagela. Looking ahead, he is set to appear in the upcoming project King, alongside notable actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Rani Mukerji. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film is expected to be released later this year.
