New Developments in Nancy Guthrie’s Kidnapping Case Involving Carlos Palazeulos

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since January 31, 2026, when she was last seen at her home in Arizona. With nearly two weeks passing since her disappearance, the FBI has obtained video footage of a masked individual near her home a week prior. The investigation continues to unfold, raising questions about potential suspects.

The case has drawn attention to Carlos Palazuelos, a 36-year-old delivery driver from Rio Rico, Arizona. He was detained for questioning after being stopped by law enforcement but was released without charges following several hours of interrogation. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos addressed his status, stating that while they had no reason to keep him detained, it’s unclear if he has been fully cleared as a suspect.

Sheriff Nanos also clarified that no one, including members of Nancy’s family, has been officially cleared from suspicion. He noted that the Guthrie family has been cooperative with the investigation, but “nobody is ever really eliminated” until the investigation is concluded. This remark comes amid rising public speculation, particularly concerning Nancy’s daughter, Annie, and her husband, Tommaso Cioni.

Investigators have received new forensic evidence, including DNA collected from Nancy’s property, which does not match her or immediate family members. This evidence is currently being analyzed at a lab in Florida. The focus remains on identifying a masked suspect captured on doorbell camera footage, which has led to increased public speculation on their identity, particularly naming Tommaso Cioni and Dominic Evans.

Online users have claimed that the physical description of the masked individual parallels Tommaso Cioni’s attributes, including body shape and facial hair. Speculation suggests that the masked intruder appeared familiar with the area, contributing to the theories surrounding Tommaso’s potential involvement. However, as discussions evolve, attention has also shifted to Dominic Evans, a bandmate of Tommaso’s.

Dominic has become a subject of interest due to his connection with both Tommaso and the case itself. Observers have noted similarities in physical features, including an athletic build and facial hair, sparking discussions on social media regarding his potential role as the masked kidnapper. An alleged tattoo on the wrist of the kidnapper has also drawn comparisons to Dominic, further intensifying the online discourse.

As the investigation continues, there has been no further news regarding Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts. The family remains hopeful for any updates as the search for answers progresses.
