Sunny Deol Shares Thoughts on Dhurandhar’s Tribute to Ghayal and Ghatak

Sunny Deol, a prominent figure in Bollywood, has responded to the viral dialogue from the film Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna. This line, which references two of his classic films, Ghayal and Ghatak, has sparked considerable discussion on social media.

The dialogue, “Ghayal hoon, isiliye Ghatak hoon,” has resonated with fans and evoked nostalgia. During an interview with ANI, Sunny was asked about any royalties from the reference. He clarified that the scene was inspired by admiration rather than a commercial agreement. Aditya Dhar, the director, included the line as a tribute, which Sunny described as “very sweet.”

In his remarks, Sunny expressed appreciation for the gesture, emphasizing that Aditya is a fan of his work. He noted, “Nahi, humare jo director hai, he is a great fan. Unhone meri picture dekhi hai aur unhone Ghayal, Ghatak, yeh sab filmein dekhi hai.” This translates to acknowledging the director’s respect through the use of his film titles.

Dhurandhar, which also stars R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, proved to be a box office hit, grossing over ₹1300 crore worldwide. A sequel titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge is slated for release next month, indicating the film’s continued popularity.

Sunny Deol’s recent work includes Border 2, a project directed by Anurag Singh. The film’s ensemble cast features Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, alongside supporting performances from Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana. This standalone sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 film Border dramatizes the joint operations of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. Since its release on January 23, the film has garnered significant box office success.

Looking ahead, Sunny is set to appear in Lahore 1947, a period drama that had its release date announced by Aamir Khan Productions for August 13, timed with the Independence Day celebrations. This film marks the first collaboration between Sunny Deol, director Rajkumar Santoshi, and producer Aamir Khan, promising to be an exciting addition to his filmography.
