Impact of Rain on India-Pakistan T20 World Cup Match: What to Expect

Yash’s upcoming action film, “Toxic,” has stirred controversy prior to its release. The film’s teaser garnered a mixed response, particularly drawing criticism from the Women’s Commission for its portrayal of a sex scene. A Christian group has also lodged a formal complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), arguing that the teaser offends religious sentiments.

In light of the backlash, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Dr. Jayamala has urged the public not to form hasty judgments based solely on the teaser. She emphasized that it represents just a brief glimpse intended to attract audiences and that discussions regarding the film’s content are premature until it has been reviewed by the censor board. Dr. Jayamala highlighted the significant investment filmmakers make in their projects, suggesting viewers should reserve their opinions until they see the completed film.

Additionally, she affirmed that the film’s producers have rejected any claims of inappropriate or disrespectful content. With the film yet to undergo the certification process, Dr. Jayamala assured that any complaints would be addressed appropriately once the film is evaluated by the regulatory authorities.

The controversy primarily stems from a scene in the teaser that features sexual content in a vehicle parked near a cemetery, which is depicted alongside a violent gunfight. This cemetery includes various religious iconographies, including a statue of Archangel Michael. As a response, the National Christian Federation formally submitted complaints to the Film Chamber of Commerce, state government officials, and the CBFC, arguing that the imagery outrages women’s modesty.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups” boasts an impressive cast, including Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi, and Sudev Nair. Yash co-wrote the film with Geetu Mohandas, and it is set for release on March 19, coinciding with Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated “Dhurandhar 2.
