Exploring the Allegations Surrounding Nancy Guthrie’s Investigator

Namit Malhotra, renowned filmmaker and head of a prominent VFX studio, aims to introduce Indian culture to Western audiences through his ambitious project, Ramayana. At a recent event, he expressed his motivation for creating this two-part film, produced alongside director Nitesh Tiwari, stemming from a sense of frustration over the lack of cultural representation in Hollywood.

During the discussion organized by ET Now, Namit highlighted his experiences in Hollywood, noting the absence of authentic portrayals of Indian culture and history. He emphasized his efforts over the past two decades to carve out a place in Hollywood, feeling that while Indians have succeeded in industries like finance, their rich cultural narrative remains largely unrecognized. This frustration fueled his desire to depict India’s history authentically, making Ramayana the ideal story to showcase its cultural depth and historical significance.

Ramayana, said to be one of the most expensive Indian films, carries a staggering budget of $500 million for its two parts. The collaboration includes Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, and Charles Roven’s American studio, Atlas Entertainment. This film represents a significant milestone in Indian cinema, positioning itself alongside high-budget Hollywood productions.

Discussing the film’s production quality, Namit emphasized the ambition behind Ramayana. He reassured audiences that its scale, technical engagement, and visual effects would rival the largest Hollywood productions. He expressed pride that this independently financed film represents a noteworthy achievement for Indian cinema on a global stage.

Bringing together a stellar cast, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, alongside performances from Ravie Dubey and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The film’s music, composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, marks Zimmer’s debut in Indian cinema. The first part of Ramayana is scheduled for release this year ahead of Diwali, with the second part set to follow in 2027, just in time for another Diwali celebration.
