Last week, Dil Raju revealed his company, Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC), has secured a distribution deal for Yash’s upcoming film Toxic in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The agreement involves a substantial payment of ₹120 crore to the producers, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. This move has raised eyebrows, with some questioning the authenticity of the announcement.
During a recent promotion for his own project, Markandeya, Raju faced skepticism over his investment. A reporter humorously suggested calling him “Dare Raju” due to the risky nature of such a large financial commitment. Raju, unfazed, welcomed the scrutiny and emphasized his willingness to provide proof of the transaction once completed, stating, “Maybe people will believe me then.”
The deal marks a significant milestone for SVC, as it represents their largest distribution acquisition for a non-Telugu film. Competing against major players like PVR Inox for the rights to Toxic, SVC emerged victorious. The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth, is anticipated to perform well given Yash’s rising popularity following the success of KGF 2.
Dil Raju expressed excitement about the project, citing Yash’s strong position in Indian cinema and the growing audience anticipation for his next film after KGF 2. He stated that with a four-year wait, expectations are particularly high, and SVC looks forward to supporting this significant film.
Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, was filmed in Kannada and English, and is set for release in multiple Indian languages including Hindi. The film is scheduled to compete with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, both slated to premiere on March 19. The battle for audience attention will likely intensify as both films approach their release dates.
