Ismail Darbar Addresses Conversion Allegations Involving His Second Wife

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor is set to captivate audiences with his upcoming film, Subedaar. At the trailer launch, he shared a humorous confession about his family dynamics, revealing that despite his popularity, no one in his family is a fan of his work. Anil also mentioned that he still asks his wife for pocket money, adding a lighthearted note to his personal anecdotes.

During the Subedaar trailer launch event, Anil Kapoor reflected on his wife Sunita’s significant role in his life and career. He humorously remarked that while he was excited about the event, she was unaware of the film he was promoting. This candidness highlights the grounded nature of his family life. Anil shared, “No one is my fan at my home,” and divulged that he sometimes asks for ₹10,000–15,000 in cash before heading to a shoot, underscoring the normalcy that pervades his household.

The actor also touched upon the sacrifices his wife made for his career while discussing his character in Subedaar. He shared insights about the depth of love he holds for her and how it shapes his work. Describing the nuances of his relationships, Anil stated, “I think I dug into my relationship with my wife” while also emphasizing the unique dynamics he shares with his daughters, Sonam and Rhea, who he considers more like friends.

Anil and Sunita Kapoor’s journey together began with a prank call, ultimately leading to a marriage that has lasted since May 19, 1984. They have three children: Sonam, a well-known actress who debuted in Saawariya; Rhea, a movie producer; and Harshvardhan, who is also pursuing an acting career in Bollywood. Their family exemplifies a blend of creativity and support.

Subedaar is directed by Suresh Triveni and features an impressive cast, including Radhika Madan, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh, and Faisal Malik. The film, which is being produced by Abundantia Entertainment, Opening Image Films, and Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network, is slated for release on Prime Video on March 5.

The official synopsis of Subedaar reveals a poignant story: “Haunted by loss and drifting away from his daughter, a retired Subedaar Arjun Maurya’s newly found civilian life is jolted by one reckless act. As old wounds reopen, he must summon the warrior within to face a new kind of war – one that hits too close to his heart.” This setup hints at a compelling narrative that intertwines personal battles with broader themes of love and sacrifice.
