Huma Qureshi Shares Thoughts on Ranveer Singh and Yash Box Office Battle

The upcoming box office clash between Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar 2” and Yash’s “Toxic” has stirred considerable discussion among fans and industry insiders. Huma Qureshi, who stars in “Toxic,” has shared her perspective on this highly anticipated face-off.

In an interview with Variety India, Qureshi emphasized that the simultaneous release of both films should be viewed positively for the film industry. She believes this competition will draw more audiences to theaters and ultimately benefit cinema as a whole. “No matter what I say, I think whichever way I look at it, it is a win for the Indian film industry and it’s going to be great for the audiences,” she stated.

She further elaborated, highlighting the positive implications for moviegoers. “It’s a win-win,” she added, suggesting that the growing interest will enhance the movie-going experience for fans. In her view, there is ample space for both films to succeed.

Contrasting her optimism, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has raised concerns about the competitive dynamics between the two releases. He acknowledged his intention to watch both films but noted that their concurrent arrival could limit their box office potential. Gupta drew on his experiences with his film “Kaabil,” which faced similar issues when released alongside “Raees.” He pointed out that many audiences cannot afford to see two films in quick succession, stressing the financial limitations that can affect box office performance.

Regarding the films themselves, “Dhurandhar 2” serves as a sequel to the 2025 hit “Dhurandhar.” Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller will delve into the background of Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza, as he engages in a dangerous mission involving a criminal syndicate in Pakistan. The film promises to culminate in an intense confrontation with Arjun Rampal’s character and features an ensemble cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and R. Madhavan.

On the other hand, “Toxic” offers a different narrative experience, infused with elements of violence and darkness. This film, written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas, is directed by Mohandas and stars Yash alongside a robust cast that includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria. “Toxic” marks Yash’s first release since the acclaimed KGF franchise and is produced under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.

Both films are scheduled for release on March 19, setting the stage for a significant showdown at the box office.
