Actor Priyanka Chopra is actively promoting her upcoming film, The Bluff, a thrilling pirate action drama that stars Karl Urban alongside her. During a recent promotional event, Priyanka shared some light-hearted moments by discussing her various nicknames, the most notable being ‘Piggy Chops,’ which sparked uproarious laughter from Urban.
In an interview with HeyUGuys, Priyanka spoke about the custom of nicknaming in India as a way to express affection. She recalled her many nicknames, including the endearing ‘Mimi.’ However, it was the nickname ‘Piggy Chops,’ bestowed upon her by co-star Abhishek Bachchan during the filming of Bluffmaster! that drew the most attention. She humorously admitted that it reflected her passion for food, saying, “I ate like a pig. I know that’s horrible.”
Urban’s reaction to the nickname was priceless; he exclaimed, “What? Piggy Chops? Oh my god, that’s outrageous. I don’t think I can ever look at you without thinking about Piggy Chops.” His laughter encapsulated the light-hearted atmosphere of their discussion.
The nickname has an interesting origin: Abhishek Bachchan playfully coined it due to Chopra’s love for eating. Over time, it became a widely recognized media moniker, although Chopra has expressed that she eventually grew tired of it.
The Bluff is directed by Frank E. Flowers and co-written by Flowers and Joe Ballarini. The film features a talented cast, including Ismael Cruz Córdova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Temuera Morrison. It is produced by AGBO, Cinestar Pictures, and Purple Pebble Pictures, with a release date set for February 25 on Prime Video.
In addition to The Bluff, Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for her return to Indian cinema in a project directed by SS Rajamouli titled Varanasi. This action-adventure film also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, along with Prakash Raj in key roles. Currently in production, Varanasi is being created with a significant budget of ₹1000 crore, positioning it among the most expensive Indian films made to date. Chopra’s return to the silver screen comes after an eight-year hiatus, with the film anticipated to hit theaters in April 2027.
