Zakir Khan Opens Up About His Break from Work and Health Concerns

Mrunal Thakur, an actor known for her compelling performances, recently shared her experience with body-shaming and online trolling. In a candid interview, she revealed how advice from fellow actor Akshay Kumar significantly aided her in embracing her body and rebuilding her confidence.

Reflecting on her past struggles, Mrunal expressed that there were times when the pressure to meet societal beauty standards deeply affected her self-esteem. “I’ve had my days. There were days I would go to bed crying,” she recounted. This emotional turmoil often left her feeling isolated, yet she recognized the necessity of courage to confront these feelings, particularly when support was lacking.

A pivotal moment for her came when she interacted with a young fan who admired her body while she harbored insecurities about her own appearance. This encounter was enlightening; it prompted her to reassess her perspective on self-worth and highlighted the importance of self-acceptance over seeking validation from others.

Mrunal further acknowledged Akshay Kumar’s influence during her journey. She remembered his encouraging words: “I’m so happy that you’ve embraced this version of yourself… but if a role requires you to cut down, do that.” His advice instilled in her the confidence to prioritize her wellbeing amidst external pressures, emphasizing the need for inner strength.

Through her journey, she has come to celebrate her natural curves and learned to be comfortable in her own skin. With supportive friends and a refreshing outlook, Mrunal feels empowered to face public scrutiny without compromising her self-esteem.

On a professional note, Mrunal recently starred in “Do Deewane Seher Mein,” a romantic drama that was released on February 20, 2026. In this film, she shares the screen with Siddhant Chaturvedi, portraying characters that embark on a journey of self-discovery and love. The movie has achieved a successful opening in India, grossing approximately ₹4–5 crore over its first weekend. Directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s banner alongside Zee Studios, the film offers a contemporary take on romance by depicting two imperfect characters exploring their emotional vulnerabilities rather than a typical fairy-tale narrative.
