Michael Feldman’s Heartfelt Visit to Savanna’s ‘Today’ Team Explained

Actor Saif Ali Khan has recently opened up about his son Ibrahim Ali Khan’s journey in Bollywood. Ibrahim made his debut with Karan Johar’s film “Nadaaniyan,” but the film, along with his performance, received mixed reviews. Following that, his next project, “Sarzameen,” also failed to capture audiences’ attention. In a candid discussion on a podcast with Soha Ali Khan, Saif addressed the issue of privilege and nepotism in the industry.

Saif highlighted the disparity between those who benefit from connections in the film industry and those who rely on their talent alone. He noted that audiences are often enamored by success stories of individuals who rise from humble beginnings without the backing of influential figures. Saif emphasized that the privilege surrounding certain actors greatly affects their opportunities, pointing out the unequal chances afforded to them compared to those without familial ties in the industry.

He further expressed his concerns about how repeated opportunities for some actors can seem unjust. According to Saif, it’s disappointing when individuals fail to take advantage of their chances, leading audiences to question the fairness of the situation. He stated, “Once you are great at what you do, the audience feels vindicated,” but the frustration arises when those who are less capable continue to receive opportunities.

In reference to his son Ibrahim, Saif indicated that while he will offer support in the young actor’s career, it will be limited. He mentioned that he feels uncertain about holding Ibrahim’s hand as he ventures into the industry, acknowledging the significant advantages Ibrahim has due to his lineage. Saif stated, “You need to do this on your own,” encouraging Ibrahim to face challenges independently.

Looking ahead, Saif has several projects lined up, including the investigative drama “Kartavya,” set to release on Netflix. The film is directed by Pulkit and features actors like Rasika Duggal and Saurabh Dwivedi in key roles. Another project, “Haiwaan,” directed by Priyadarshan, will see Saif reuniting with Akshay Kumar after nearly 17 years.

On the other hand, Ibrahim is gearing up for his upcoming film “Diler,” directed by Kunal Deshmukh. Reports indicate that Sreeleela will star as the female lead, though an official announcement is still pending. This film will be significant as it marks Ibrahim’s theatrical debut, following his forays into OTT platforms with “Nadaaniyan” and “Sarzameen,” both of which did not resonate with audiences.
