Corey Parker succumbed to terminal cancer after a courageous battle, as reported by various media outlets including PEOPLE. His family, including sister Noelle and aunt Emily Parker, confirmed his passing, though they did not specify the type of cancer he faced. The actor’s friends and students initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support him during his illness after he was diagnosed with advanced-stage 4 metastatic cancer. This diagnosis came following hip replacement surgery.

Born Corey Parker Haas on July 8, 1965, in New York City, Parker’s acting journey began at an early age. He was the son of actress Rochelle ‘Rocky’ Natalie Parker and John David Haas, and he experienced a brief period as the step-son of actor Patrick Dempsey. Encouraged by his mother, Parker started acting at just five years old. He attended the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan and began training at the Actors Studio by the age of 14, later becoming a lifetime member of both the Actors Studio and the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York and Los Angeles.

Parker’s career included memorable film roles such as ‘Pete’ in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning (1985) and ‘Arnold B. Epstein’ in the film adaptation of Biloxi Blues (1988). On television, he is recognized for his roles as ‘Josh’ in Will & Grace (2000), ‘Dr. John Morgan’ in Love Boat: The Next Wave (1998–1999), and ‘Neil Barash’ in Flying Blind (1992–1993).

Parker transitioned from acting to coaching after being encouraged by friends and peers. His formal entry into teaching began when his mentor, Susan Batson, invited him to lead an advanced acting class in New York around late 1999. Initially hesitant, Parker eventually embraced the role and found fulfillment in teaching, realizing he had a natural inclination for it. He expressed that he was protective of his students and took pride in their growth.

In his own words, Parker reflected on the journey, stating that while he was unsure at first, he recognized the value and joy in teaching others. His passion for nurturing young talent was evident in his commitment to coaching, a role he cherished deeply.
