Teyana Taylor Calls Out “Rude” Security Guard for Aggressive Behavior at Oscars

Actor Teyana Taylor was involved in a confrontation at the 2026 Academy Awards, reportedly with a security guard who allegedly shoved her. The incident occurred after the ceremony concluded as she made her way to the stage for a photo with her costars from the film “One Battle After Another.”

Footage shared on social media captured Teyana expressing her frustration, stating, “You’re a man putting your hands on a female.” She went on to describe the encounter as rude and reiterated her discomfort, saying, “He literally shoved me… Do not touch me, do not shove me.”

Reactions to the video on social media were varied, with some users emphasizing the importance of consent in physical interactions. Comments included sentiments like, “That’s wild! Sounds like things got really heated. Hope Teyana Taylor is alright—nobody should have to deal with that, even at the Oscars.”

According to reports, Teyana was attempting to return to the stage with her colleague Pam Abdi when a security guard intervened. The guard allegedly used his body to block their path, physically preventing them from ascending the stairs and pushing Teyana back.

After the incident, Teyana spoke with TMZ, explaining her perspective. She remarked, “Security was just doing a lot… I’m perfectly fine. I’m happy. There’s nothing to wonder.” She emphasized her intolerance for unwarranted disrespect, indicating that assumptions often arise in such situations.

During the ceremony, Teyana was a nominee in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in “One Battle After Another,” though she ultimately lost to Amy Madigan, who won for her performance in the film “Weapons.” Notably, “One Battle After Another” emerged as a significant winner at the event, capturing six Oscars, including Best Picture.

The film, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, is inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel “Vineland” and boasts an ensemble cast featuring prominent actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Regina Hall. In addition to her Oscar nomination, Teyana received recognition at various prestigious awards, including the Golden Globes, where she won for her performance in the film.
