Nora Fatehi’s ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ Faces Backlash for Provocative Lyrics

Nora Fatehi is poised to make a splash in the upcoming pan-India film KD. She stars alongside Sanjay Dutt in the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke,” which recently debuted. While some fans lauded Fatehi’s dance skills, many viewers expressed discontent over the song’s explicit lyrics and provocative choreography.

“Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” features a dance bar setting, showcasing Fatehi accompanied by numerous backup dancers. In the recently released promo, she dons a striking ghaghra choli and performs suggestive moves while surrounded by a rowdy crowd. The highly discussed hookstep includes a provocative sequence where she repeatedly drops and picks up her pallu.

Upon the release of the full lyrical video, audience focus shifted from the choreography to the song’s lyrics. The opening verse features a graphic double entendre, initially implying sexual connotations, only to reveal it is a metaphor for a drink, likely alcoholic. Sung by Mangli with lyrics penned by Raqeeb Alam, the music is composed by Arjun Janya.

Reactions from the public have been predominantly negative, with many viewers taking to YouTube to voice their criticism. Comments ranged from labeling the lyrics as “cheap and vulgar” to calls for a ban on the song entirely. Criticism also extended to the dance sequences, with one commenter expressing disbelief at the song’s content in modern times.

Notably, Sanjay Dutt’s involvement in the music video raised eyebrows, particularly among fans who felt disappointed after his previous work. The director, Prems, faced backlash as well, with many declaring the piece unworthy of Kannada cinema. Some viewers went so far as to criticize the overall quality, comparing it unfavorably to Bhojpuri songs.

KD: The Devil is an anticipated Kannada-language action crime film slated for release on April 30, 2026. Directed by Prem, the film stars Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, and Reeshma Nanaiah. Set in the 1970s, it narrates the story of Kaali, a petty criminal navigating the complexities of the underworld.
