‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Shatters Global Box Office at ₹1,088 Crore

Aditya Dhar’s latest release, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” has made history in Indian cinema, grossing over ₹1,088 crore worldwide during its opening week. This remarkable figure establishes the film as the biggest global blockbuster in the history of Indian films.

The film, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, amassed ₹814 crore in India and ₹274 crore internationally, with a net collection of ₹690 crore within the country. This strong performance has been highlighted by the studios involved, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, emphasizing that “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” achieved record collections every day during its first week.

The sequel to the original hit “Dhurandhar,” this film rapidly crossed the ₹1,000 crore milestone internationally and set multiple records, including the highest opening weekend and the most robust weekday performance ever for an Indian film. It began its journey with a record-breaking opening weekend, raking in ₹761 crore globally in just four days.

The impressive box office run continued throughout the week, with domestic earnings peaking at ₹64 crore on Monday, followed by ₹58 crore on Tuesday, ₹49 crore on Wednesday, and ₹53 crore on Thursday. Notably, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” is also the first Indian film to surpass the ₹100 crore mark for a single day in just one language, garnering ₹145 crore during its paid previews and opening day in India.

Released on March 19 in multiple languages—Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam—the film features a strong cast that includes R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. The narrative unfolds in Lyari, a locality in Karachi notorious for gang conflicts, following Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, as he rises in the underworld while exploring his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a young man who evolves into a covert operative.

“Dhurandhar: The Revenge” is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, aiming to captivate audiences with its action-packed storyline and impressive performances. Its unprecedented success sets a new benchmark for future films in the Indian cinema landscape.
