Aditya Dhar’s latest film, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” has quickly made its mark in cinematic history, grossing over ₹1,088 crore worldwide within just one week of its release. This impressive figure not only positions the film as a record-breaking global blockbuster but also highlights its significant impact on the Indian film industry.
The spy thriller stars Ranveer Singh and has garnered substantial earnings, with ₹814 crore collected in India and ₹274 crore from international markets. The film achieved a net collection of ₹690 crore in India during its opening week, showcasing its widespread appeal and popularity.
According to a statement from the production houses Jio Studios and B62 Studios, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” achieved all-time record collections on each day of its first week, surpassing previous benchmarks set by similar films. Notably, it holds the record for the fastest film to reach ₹1,000 crore globally, as well as the highest opening weekend and the best weekday holds ever recorded for an Indian film.
The film’s success was evident from its record-breaking opening weekend, where it amassed ₹761 crore in just four days. This momentum continued into the following weekdays, with daily collections of ₹64 crore on Monday, ₹58 crore on Tuesday, ₹49 crore on Wednesday, and ₹53 crore on Thursday.
“Dhurandhar: The Revenge” also achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Indian film to surpass ₹100 crore within a single day for one language. It generated ₹145 crore combined from paid previews and its opening day in India.
As a sequel to the successful 2025 film “Dhurandhar,” this latest installment was released on March 19 in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film features a stellar cast, including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
Set against the backdrop of the Lyari town in Karachi, known for its gang warfare and violent conflicts, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” follows the journey of Hamza Ali Mazari, portrayed by Singh. The story delves into his evolution from Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a young man, into a formidable operative within the Karachi underworld.
