Udaybir Sandhu Reflects on 10-Year Journey and Multiple Auditions for Dhurandhar 2’s ‘Pinda’

Udaybir Sandhu is receiving widespread acclaim for his impactful performance in the film “Dhurandhar The Revenge.” Portraying the character Pinda, he plays a crucial role in the transformation of Hamza, portrayed by Ranveer Singh. Despite having limited screen time, Udaybir’s presence has resonated with audiences, prompting him to express his gratitude for the recognition he’s received.

In a recent interview, Udaybir shared insights into his journey in the film industry, revealing that it has been nearly a decade since he began. Initially working as a model in Delhi, he gradually transitioned to Mumbai, navigating the challenging audition process. His experiences encompass a range of projects, including ad films and various roles in television, cinema, and web series.

He reflected on the difficulties faced by outsiders in the industry, stating, “It has been a while because, as an outsider, it is somewhat challenging. One waits for an opportunity to arise, hoping for a small opening through which one can enter.” Udaybir’s comments shed light on the perseverance required to break into a competitive field.

The dynamic between Udaybir and Ranveer in “Dhurandhar 2” has captured considerable attention, particularly during a pivotal scene that escalates into a fierce confrontation. As Hamza strives to uphold his cover as an Indian spy in Pakistan, Udaybir’s notable line, “Ghar di yaad nahi aayi tujhe, Jassi?” (Didn’t you miss home, Jassi?), has quickly gone viral on social media.

“Dhurandhar 2” acts as a sequel to the box office success of “Dhurandhar,” which premiered in December 2025. The original film depicted Hamza’s infiltration of a Baloch gang in Lyari, Pakistan, aimed at dismantling a terrorist organization. The sequel explores the backstory of Jaskirat’s transformation into Hamza, showcasing the challenges he faces amidst his circumstances. Alongside Ranveer, the sequel features performances from Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor, all of whom reprise their roles from the original.

The first installment of “Dhurandhar” grossed an impressive ₹1300 crore worldwide and continues to draw audiences in theatres months after its release. Expectations are high for the sequel, with many anticipating that it will surpass the success of its predecessor.
