Rapper and singer Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, widely known as Badshah, has faced significant backlash following the release of his latest song, “Tateeree.” As criticism mounted, he has since apologized and decided to remove the track from all platforms. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned both Badshah and the creators of the song to address allegations of obscenity and vulgarity.
In a recent statement reported by PTI, Badshah expressed regret to the NCW for “Tateeree,” announcing his commitment to women’s empowerment, which includes the sponsorship of education for 50 girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. He appeared before the commission concerning a suo motu case initiated due to the controversial nature of the song. During the hearing, which involved directors Joban Sandhu and Mahavir Singh and producer Hiten, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar emphasized that the song’s content had undermined the dignity of women. She conveyed serious concerns about the damage inflicted and directed all parties involved to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
At the hearing, all representatives submitted written apologies and acknowledged the negative impact the song had on society.
In his address to the NCW, Badshah committed to working towards the upliftment of women and promised to create an empowering song dedicated to women within four months. He reiterated his intention to abstain from engaging in any similar activities in the future.
“Tateeree” is a Haryanvi hip-hop single launched on March 1, 2026, featuring Badshah along with vocalist Simran Jaglan. The song showcases Badshah’s penmanship, with its lyrics crafted by him and music composed by Hiten, who also produced the track. The official music video was directed by Mahi Sandhu and Joban Sandhu. Following the backlash, Badshah took to Instagram to express his regret and clarified that it was never his intention to offend anyone. In response to the uproar, the Haryana Police intensified efforts to remove links associated with “Tateeree” from various social media platforms.
