Rashmika Mandanna Celebrates Her Roots as Vijay Deverakonda Praises Coorgi Women

Rashmika Mandanna recently celebrated her 30th birthday with a wedding reception in her hometown of Kogadu, Karnataka. The event featured the actress in a traditional Kodava-style saree, accompanied by her husband, Vijay Deverakonda. Their appearance together has garnered significant attention on social media.

Photographs and videos from the reception capture the couple’s affectionate interactions, including walking hand-in-hand and sharing a cake-cutting moment. Family members were present, adding to the celebratory atmosphere with their elegant attire.

During her speech at the reception, Rashmika expressed her deep connection to her roots, stating, “I am this child of the soil. The love of the Kodava people is always special.” She highlighted her joy in returning to her hometown post-wedding and emphasized the importance of receiving blessings from family and friends. Rashmika also acknowledged Vijay’s appreciation for Kodava culture.

Vijay took the opportunity to share his experiences with the local culture by attempting to speak in Kodava Takk before switching to English. He reflected on his previous visits to Kodagu, noting that this was his third trip to the region. “Next time I come, I’d like to go around and see her childhood and life here,” he commented, underscoring his affection for the area and its people.

The couple’s journey began with a private engagement ceremony in Hyderabad last October, where they were seen wearing rings, despite not officially announcing their engagement. They married on February 26 in a traditional Telugu ceremony that included elements of Kodava rituals. Following their wedding, the couple hosted a reception in Hyderabad and now in Coorg. They also paid a visit to the Igguthappa temple during their stay.

Rashmika and Vijay first collaborated in the 2018 film “Geetha Govindam,” followed by “Dear Comrade” in 2019. Rashmika was previously engaged to Rakshit Shetty, a co-star from “Kirik Party,” but the couple parted ways in 2018. There were also rumors regarding Vijay’s past relationships. Now, the two stars are set to reunite for their upcoming project, “Ranabaali.
