Anushka Sharma Applauds Ranveer Singh’s Stellar Performance in Dhurandhar 2

Actor Anushka Sharma recently shared her appreciation for Aditya Dhar’s film “Dhurandhar 2,” expressing her admiration for the filmmaker’s ability to create a captivating four-hour narrative. In her social media tribute, she praised the film’s gripping portrayal and lauded the performances of the cast, particularly highlighting Ranveer Singh’s work.

On Monday, Anushka took to Instagram to share her thoughts after watching the spy thriller. She commended Dhar for crafting a film that, despite its length, maintains an immersive experience for viewers. Anushka also recognized R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Rakesh Bedi, acknowledging their contributions to the film’s success.

Anushka’s Instagram Story conveyed her enthusiasm: “What a fantastic film you’ve made @adityadharfilms! It takes so much conviction to make an almost 4-hour-long film. Gripping and immersive, meticulously crafted, the film holds your attention through and through,” she noted, praising Dhar as a “fiercely original and assured filmmaker.”

In her tribute, she specifically celebrated Ranveer Singh’s portrayal as “solid” and “flawless,” emphasizing that his performance, along with those of the other talented actors, helped make the film a success. She expressed gratitude to all involved, saying, “Many congratulations to everyone behind this one.”

Anushka and Ranveer first co-starred in the 2010 romantic comedy “Band Baaja Baaraat,” which marked the directorial debut of Maneesh Sharma and became a commercial success. The pair later reunited in 2015 for “Dil Dhadakne Do,” which featured a star-studded cast including Priyanka Chopra and Anil Kapoor.

Aditya Dhar responded to Anushka’s praise by reposting her story on his Instagram, expressing gratitude for her kind words. He stated, “This is truly overwhelming coming from such an exceptional talent like you. Thank you so much Anushka… it only pushes us to aim higher, to tell stories with honesty, heart and purpose.”

“Dhurandhar 2,” subtitled “The Revenge,” serves as a sequel to the 2025 hit “Dhurandhar” and was released on March 19. Alongside Ranveer, the movie features notable actors such as Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun.

The original “Dhurandhar” was set against the backdrop of Lyari, Karachi, an area historically associated with gang conflicts and political strife. It focused on covert intelligence operations influenced by real-life events including the Kandahar plane hijacking and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

In the sequel, viewers get deeper insight into Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza—also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The narrative explores his motivations and unfolds as he grapples with power dynamics in Lyari while tackling a terror network posing a threat to India. Since its release, the film has seen impressive box office earnings, grossing ₹75 crore in previews and ₹165 crore on its opening day, ultimately surpassing the ₹1000 crore mark domestically and over ₹1600 crore globally.
