Bengaluru Triumphs Over Mumbai with Salt and Kohli’s Stellar Performances

Priyanka Chopra is making headlines as she begins filming for her Telugu debut, Varanasi, with acclaimed director SS Rajamouli in Hyderabad. After a relaxing Sunday spent by the pool with her family, she shared a few moments from her day on Instagram, capturing both the serene atmosphere and her love for raw mango.

Chopra’s Instagram update provided fans with a personal glimpse into her Sunday, describing it as a rare occasion where it truly felt like a Sunday. Images showcased her relaxing by the pool in a robe and later posing in a vibrant blue bikini. Her posts didn’t go unnoticed, even drawing a compliment from filmmaker Ekta Kapoor, who proclaimed her a “superstar.”

In addition to the photos, Priyanka shared a video of herself enjoying kachi keri, or raw mango, sprinkled with red chili powder. Comments from followers reflected their enjoyment as one noted her fondness for “Desi snacks.” Heartwarming moments included snapshots of her daughter Malti Marie snuggling with her grandmother Madhu Chopra and a clip of Malti assisting her father, Nick Jonas, during a video call.

Varanasi is SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated follow-up to the blockbuster RRR, set for release during Sankranthi in 2027. The film, co-written with his father, V Vijayendra Prasad, features a star-studded cast, including Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Prakash Raj. Described as a globetrotting adventure deeply embedded in Indian mythology, Varanasi promises to be a major cinematic event.

Filming for Varanasi began in early 2025, though the film was officially announced in November 2025. The first look of Mahesh Babu as Rudhra was unveiled at a grand Hyderabad event. Priyanka Chopra will portray the character Mandakini, with Pruthviraj Sukumaran playing Kumbha. This film also marks her significant return to Indian cinema after her role in Jai Gangaajal in 2016.

Apart from her work on Varanasi, Priyanka has been active in other projects, including her role in Heads of State and a cameo in A Very Jonas Christmas Movie released in 2025. She also executive-produced the documentary The Cycle of Love last year. This year saw her playing a pirate in The Bluff, a project she also produced, along with the anticipated second season of the web series Citadel on Prime Video.
