Playback singer Shreya Ghoshal and her parents recently acquired a luxury apartment in Worli, Mumbai, for ₹30 crore, as indicated by property registration documents. This transaction marks their second purchase in the building, having previously bought a 2,750.3 sq ft unit for ₹29.7 crore.
The newly purchased apartment is situated in the Godrej Trilogy development, known for its sea-facing views and premium amenities. It covers an area of 2,777.84 sq ft and includes three designated parking spaces. The registration of this transaction occurred on April 1, 2026, with total stamp duty and registration charges amounting to ₹1.8 crore and ₹30,000, respectively. The agreement involved several entities, including Embellish Houses Private Limited and Akshay Sthapatya Private Limited, solidifying the family’s investment in the upscale residential market.
Worli has emerged as a prime location for luxury real estate, following the trend set by other affluent neighborhoods such as South Mumbai and Bandra. According to a report by Anarock, premium apartments in Worli are currently priced between ₹65,000 to ₹1,00,000+ per sq. ft., drawing comparisons to New York’s Lower Manhattan in both market aspiration and economic terms.
The pricing structure in Worli illustrates a clear correlation between price and size. Properties under ₹8 crore generally offer less than 1,000 sq ft, while those in the ₹8 crore to ₹16 crore range commonly fall between 1,000 and 2,000 sq ft. Apartments priced between ₹16 crore and ₹24 crore typically span 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, and properties exceeding ₹32 crore provide living spaces of over 4,000 sq ft, illustrating the area’s appeal to affluent buyers.
The ongoing development in Worli has significantly reshaped the area from its industrial past into a contemporary lifestyle hub. Approximately 4-5 million sq. ft. of premium residential and retail spaces are currently under construction, adding to the neighborhood’s sophistication. As a result, Worli is not only a residential haven but also a burgeoning center for commercial activity, making it attractive to both individuals and businesses alike.
In recent years, high-profile transactions have further highlighted the attractiveness of the Worli real estate market. The purchase of two sea-facing duplex apartments by Leena Gandhi Tewari, chairperson of USV, for an impressive ₹639 crore last year drew considerable attention to the area’s luxury segment.
With its strategic location near business districts like the Bandra Kurla Complex and a robust upscale infrastructure, Worli continues to position itself as a desirable destination for premium living and investment.
