Actors Tabu and Akshay Kumar share a longstanding friendship that predates their on-screen collaborations. Their first film together, “Tu Chor Mai Sipahi,” premiered in 1996, yet the duo has known each other for nearly four decades. During the recent trailer launch of their upcoming film “Bhooth Bangla,” they reflected on their enduring bond and the experiences that shaped it.
Tabu highlighted Akshay’s unwavering routines over the years, stating, “He is the same; he still wakes up at 4 AM and will insist on jogging at 5 AM.” She noted that his advice about health and lifestyle choices remains consistent, mirroring her experience with filmmaker Priyadarshan, with whom she has collaborated on eight films. This sense of familiarity underlines the depth of their friendship.
Reflecting on their early days, Akshay revealed that they met 39 years ago at a dance academy. He reminisced, “We used to go to the dance academy together to learn dance,” to which Tabu added fondly that he would often pick her up on his bike. These shared memories illustrate the strong foundation of their friendship, which has continued to evolve in the film industry.
Their professional partnership includes notable projects like “Hera Pheri” (2000), also directed by Priyadarshan. Their reunion in “Bhooth Bangla” marks a significant return after a hiatus of 26 years. Fans are excited to see them together again.
In recent work, Tabu was featured in the 2024 series “Dune: Prophecy,” portraying Sister Francesca, along with roles in the comedy film “Crew” and the romantic drama “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha.” Akshay, on the other hand, has been busy with multiple projects. His recent films include “Sky Force,” “Kesari Chapter 2,” “Housefull 5,” and “Jolly LLB 3,” along with a cameo in the Telugu film “Kannappa.”
“Bhooth Bangla” showcases Akshay’s character inheriting a haunted bungalow and his comical attempts to sell it. The film portrays an intriguing narrative where he organizes his wedding in a village plagued by an evil entity named Vadhusur, a unique twist that has garnered attention from fans.
