ILT20 Season 5 Kicks Off in the UAE on November 22

Season 5 of the DP World International League T20 is set to kick off on Sunday, November 22, 2026. This league, renowned as the second-most watched T20 tournament globally, showcases some of the biggest names in cricket.

The tournament will feature six teams competing in 34 matches, culminating in the grand finale on December 20 at the Dubai International Stadium. This format has attracted significant attention, particularly in recent seasons.

In a shift from previous years, the league transitioned to a December schedule starting from Season 4, which proved to be highly successful. The enhanced broadcasting figures and increased spectator attendance highlighted the growing popularity of the event.

Season 4 concluded on January 4, 2026, with a thrilling final that saw the Desert Vipers seize their first title by defeating MI Emirates by 46 runs in front of a full crowd at the Dubai International Stadium. The excitement surrounding the tournament continues to build.

David White, the CEO of the International League T20, expressed satisfaction with the achievements of Season 4, noting the remarkable success reflected in broadcast statistics and fan engagement. He emphasized the ongoing growth of the league and the importance of the partnerships established with cricket boards in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

As part of these strategic alliances, development tournaments will be held in both countries leading up to Season 5, further solidifying the league’s influence in the region. The involvement of top players from around the world also adds significant appeal to the tournament, enriching the competition.

Noteworthy participants from Season 4 included cricketing stars such as Sam Curran, Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, and Kieron Pollard. This roster of talent demonstrates the league’s ability to attract elite players and maintain high-quality cricket.

The anticipation for Season 5 is palpable, and as the tournament date approaches, fans eagerly await what promises to be an exciting series of matches highlighting T20 cricket at its finest.
