Shakun Batra’s AI-Driven Video Receives Rave Reviews, Including from Ranveer Singh

Filmmaker Shakun Batra, known for his work on “Kapoor & Sons” and “Gehraiyaan,” has recently unveiled the AI division of his storytelling studio, Jouska Films. This launch has gained significant attention, particularly due to a video that effectively demonstrates the pronunciation of the studio’s name, hailed by many as a prime example of innovative AI use.

On his studio’s Instagram page, Shakun shared an eye-catching AI-generated video that humorously illustrates the correct pronunciation of Jouska. Featuring visuals of people floating mid-air and a clever breakdown of the name, the clip concludes with pilots announcing it over an aircraft intercom. Batra captioned the post, emphasizing the importance of the pronunciation and highlighting that it was created in collaboration with AI.

The video resonated well with fans and fellow celebrities alike. Ranveer Singh enjoyed the content, responding with enthusiasm, while Ananya Panday called it “Insanee.” Actor Aparshakti Khurana expressed his admiration as well, saying, “Woah!!!! Love itttt.” Viewers took to social media to laud the innovative use of AI, with comments praising its creative concept and distinction as one of the best applications of artificial intelligence.

In 2025, Shakun Batra worked alongside Google India on a five-part video series that encompassed various genres, including action, comedy, and science fiction, all crafted through AI technology. The inaugural video, titled “The Gateway Car,” featured an ambitious car chase sequence that Batra acknowledged would have been difficult to achieve through traditional production methods. He noted that the flexibility of AI allowed for visualization and planning without extensive preparation time or the need for permits.

Discussing the potential of AI in filmmaking, Batra remarked that its future impact hinges on its application. He encouraged creativity beyond mere replication of existing concepts, suggesting that AI could revolutionize the industry if it serves as a platform for new voices and methodologies.

Shakun’s previous project, “Gehraiyaan,” released on Amazon Prime Video in 2022, showcased a talented cast that included Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. Despite the film drawing mixed reviews, particularly about its screenplay and ending, it reinforced Batra’s distinct storytelling style. As of now, he has not yet disclosed details about his forthcoming projects, leaving fans eager for what’s next in his filmmaking journey.
