Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has built a successful career in the film industry, delighting audiences for over 20 years. However, in a recent podcast, he shared that his son, Aarav Bhatia, has chosen a different path, showing no interest in following his father’s footsteps into Bollywood.
During the discussion with Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay reflected on his similarities with Aarav, mentioning their shared focus on health and work ethic. He emphasized that despite their commonalities, Aarav is not inclined to act in films and instead aims for a future in fashion. “He doesn’t have any such plan,” Akshay remarked, highlighting his son’s aspirations.
Aarav is currently engaged in gaining practical experience in the fashion industry, even working a modest job. Akshay noted, “He’s still working a ₹4500 job even today. It’s a good thing, why not?” This experience involves learning directly from rural areas, exploring various prints and styles. Akshay also mentioned his supportive approach towards his son’s choices, noting that he doesn’t lecture him too much but advises him to avoid harming others in his pursuits.
Born in 2002, Aarav is the eldest child of Akshay and his wife, author Twinkle Khanna. He moved abroad at 15 to enhance his education and is presently studying in London. Unlike his younger sister Nitara, who occasionally appears on social media, Aarav prefers to maintain a lower profile and stay out of the public eye.
On the professional front, Akshay is currently earning acclaim for his role in the horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie features a talented ensemble cast, including Paresh Rawal and Tabu. Although it received mixed reviews, the collaboration between Akshay and Priyadarshan has excited fans. The film achieved impressive box office earnings, grossing over ₹15 crore on its opening day, with expectations of strong weekend performance.
Looking ahead, Akshay is set to star in Welcome To The Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan. This film boasts a star-studded cast featuring Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others. It is scheduled for theatrical release on June 26, 2026. Additionally, Akshay will collaborate with Saif Ali Khan again in Haiwaan, also directed by Priyadarshan, adding to his growing list of upcoming projects.
