Lissy Priyadarshan Dispels Wedding Rumors Concerning Pranav Mohanlal

The recent interactions between Kalyani Priyadarshan and Pranav Mohanlal have sparked rumors of a romantic relationship among fans. Their on-screen chemistry in films like Hridayam (2022) and the upcoming Varshangalkku Shesham (2024) has caught the public’s attention, leading to speculation about their personal lives. However, filmmaker Priyadarshan’s ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi, has promptly dispelled the rumors regarding a supposed wedding between the two.

On social media, Lissy shared cheerful images celebrating the Malayalam New Year, Vishu, along with a heartfelt message wishing prosperity and happiness. Fans responded enthusiastically, flooding her comments with best wishes for the festival. Amidst the celebratory comments, one user hinted at a potential marriage between Kalyani and Pranav, prompting Lissy to decisively label the speculation as “false news!”

The bond between Kalyani and Pranav is deeper than mere professional collaboration; they have been friends since childhood. Kalyani affectionately refers to Pranav as ‘Appu’ and has shared that their relationship feels akin to that of siblings. She recounted in a 2023 interview that they would often reunite during school vacations, leading to a close-knit bond during their formative years.

Reflecting on their childhood, Kalyani recalled that their friendship was so strong that she often claimed Pranav was her cousin to simplify their connection to her friends. Their history together adds a layer of familiarity to their on-screen portrayals, though Kalyani emphasizes that their relationship remains platonic.

Professionally, both actors are enjoying recent successes. Pranav appeared in a cameo role in the well-received L2: Empuraan, alongside his father, Mohanlal, before featuring as the lead in the 2025 horror film Diés Iraé, which has garnered positive reviews and surpassed ₹82 crore at the global box office. This supernatural story, centered around a wealthy young man haunted by an entity, showcases Pranav’s growing talent in the industry.

Kalyani has also captured audience attention, particularly with her role in the superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, where she plays a character reminiscent of vampire lore. This film has achieved significant commercial success, grossing over ₹300 crore worldwide. In addition to this project, she was featured in the comedic film Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira earlier in the year and has upcoming roles in Genie and Marshal, both set to release in Tamil, along with Lokah Chapter 2 in Malayalam.

Given their impressive recent work and deep-rooted friendship, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Pranav Mohanlal continue to be subjects of public interest, even as they maintain their professional paths separately.
