Rinku Singh’s Performance: A Contender for the Season’s Best Innings

Kalyani Priyadarshan and Pranav Mohanlal have captured the attention of fans since their collaboration in the films Hridayam (2022) and Varshangalkku Shesham (2024). Their on-screen chemistry has led to speculation about a possible relationship, prompting discussions among audiences. Recently, filmmaker Priyadarshan’s ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi, addressed the rumors regarding their daughter’s alleged engagement to Mohanlal’s son.

In a recent Instagram post celebrating the Malayalam New Year, Vishu, Lissy shared heartfelt wishes for prosperity and joy. Accompanied by pictures of her in traditional attire, the post attracted a flood of comments from fans, including one that speculated about a potential marriage between Kalyani and Pranav. Lissy quickly dismissed these rumors with a straightforward response: “false news!”

Kalyani and Pranav’s friendship began in childhood, and they have remained close. In a 2023 interview with Vanitha TV, Kalyani affectionately referred to Pranav as ‘Appu,’ emphasizing their sibling-like bond. Despite portraying romantic leads on screen, she clarified that they share a unique, familial relationship, having grown up together during vacations.

“Our bond is akin to that of siblings,” she stated, highlighting the numerous memories they created together. Kalyani noted that in their old photographs, she has more pictures with Pranav than with her actual brother. She humorously shared how she would introduce him as her cousin to friends to simplify their connection.

Both actors have recently experienced significant success in their respective careers. Pranav appeared in a cameo role in L2: Empuraan, where he played a younger version of a character made famous by his father, Mohanlal. Following that, he starred in the horror film Diés Iraé, which received positive critical reception and performed admirably at the box office, grossing over ₹82 crore globally. The story follows a wealthy young man haunted by an enigmatic force, directed by Rahul Sadasivan.

Kalyani also enjoyed success, featuring in Dominic Arun’s superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, produced by Dulquer Salmaan. In this film, Kalyani plays a character reminiscent of a vampire, which resonated with audiences, leading to immense box office success, grossing over ₹300 crore worldwide. Additionally, she appeared in the comedy Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira. Upcoming projects for Kalyani include Genie and Marshal in Tamil, as well as the sequel to Lokah in Malayalam.

Meanwhile, Priyadarshan’s film Bhooth Bangla, featuring Akshay Kumar, was released in theaters recently, adding to the buzz surrounding these talented individuals in the film industry.
