Urvashi Dholakia Hits Out at Nighttime Construction Disturbances Nearby

Television actor Urvashi Dholakia has raised alarm over the ongoing late-night construction work in Mumbai’s Juhu area, describing it as a “midnight horror” for local residents. She expressed her frustration at the apparent inaction from the authorities regarding the disturbances caused by construction activities, particularly those linked to Asit Kumar Modi, producer of the popular show “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”

Utilizing social media, Urvashi shared an open letter that detailed the chaos stemming from the construction, emphasizing that an entire road had been blocked without official permission. She lamented that no officials had arrived for inspection or intervention, stating, “HORRORS OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN JUHU CONTINUES.” Alongside her message, she included videos capturing the disruption.

In her correspondence, she tagged Modi directly, pointing out how the ongoing construction has made life unbearable for nearby residents. She highlighted comments made by Modi’s brother expressing their commitment to continuing the work, declaring her intention to persist in speaking out against the situation.

This incident marks yet another instance of Urvashi voicing her concerns. Just a day prior, she criticized the late-night construction, noting it had persisted far beyond acceptable hours. The noise from machinery and construction activities has been disturbing residents’ peace, adversely affecting their health and overall quality of life.

Urvashi emphasized the violation of local regulations that govern construction hours in residential areas. These guidelines are not just recommendations; they are essential for maintaining livable conditions in the community. She insisted that ignoring these rules is a serious issue that goes beyond mere inconvenience.

In her plea for help, she called on local authorities and builders to adhere strictly to the designated construction hours and to minimize noise pollution. By tagging civic and police officials in her posts, Urvashi sought accountability and emphasized the residents’ right to peaceful living conditions.

Reflecting on her attempts to seek assistance, she shared her experience of contacting emergency services during the early hours of the morning. After multiple calls to the police, she noted that no one responded, raising concerns about the reliability of emergency services. She questioned what could have happened if her situation had required immediate action, underscoring the systemic flaws that have frustrated citizens like herself.

Urvashi Dholakia’s case has reignited discussions about civic responsibility, the enforcement of regulations, and the effects of noise pollution in urban areas. Her efforts have drawn attention to the need for authorities to take housing conditions and residents’ rights seriously, prompting a wider conversation about quality of life in Mumbai’s bustling neighborhoods.
